is the winner of the 2014 LSOR Reviewers Choice Awards. She is married and has three grown children. She loves spending quality time with her eight grandchildren, teaching them the wonderful traditions learned from her heritage. Mary Ann never dreamed of writing children's books.

The language barrier was a challenge to her writing career. She was born in Sicily. As a young child, she always loved books, even though they were not available. At a young age, she moved to the U.S.A. She attended Cosmetology School and college. She is fluent in the Italian, Sicilian, and English languages. At the age of fifty, she wrote her first story for children. Urged by constant inspiration, she wrote many other stories and poems. One day, she woke up with the realization "a writer was born!" Mary Ann has always kept in close contact with her inner child. She taps in her Sicilian folklore to entertain and cultivate children and the child in all of us. Mary Ann wants to spread the joy of her books to many children all over the world. These are her published books: The Water Lily Fairy
- The Water Lily Fairy at the Ice Cream Palace - La Fata delle Ninfee (The Water Lily Fairy Italian version) - Ants In My Pants - Mommy, Where Does Tiger Live? - Julie and Her Seven Calves - Mouse Goes to the Doctor - The Street Where the Dollar Tree Grew - Fingerprints on the Mirror - La Fata delle Ninfee al Castello del Gelato (The Water Lily Fairy at the Ice Cream Palace Italian version) - Catch the Rainbows, found in Fun & Short Stories Vol. 1. These are her published coloring books: Fingerprints on the Mirror The Coloring Book, The Water Lily Fairy The Coloring Book. Her books will be available in five languages: English, Italian, Sicilian, French, and Spanish. Mary Ann realizes the importance of preserving a language that can forever be forgotten. She is writing books on Sicilian proverbs and Sicilian old sayings. These will be written simultaneously in Sicilian, Italian, and English. Also, she is working on the story, The Molinazzo and Punta Raisi Airport, which will be in Italian, English and Sicilian. More children's books soon to follow: Footprints on Mommy's Heart - Formiche Sui Pantaloni (Ants In My Pants Italian version), Catch the Rainbows, and The Polka Dot Pony. Mary Ann reflects her personality in the humorous books of "The Water Lily Fairy" series and in the diversity of her books. She hopes her books will be treasured by many children and bring sunshine into their hearts. Her books are sold online by Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Author House, and world wide. Locally, they are sold at the Book Nook store, in Allen Park, Michigan. Her poems address the current issues of our country and have been published in the UAW Local 387 newspaper, in Michigan. Mary Ann loves God, her family, gardening, traveling, and art.
