YOD

A Yod—also known as the “finger of fate” or “finger of God”—is a rare astrological aspect that involves any three planets in the horoscope that form an isoceles triangle. Learn more at:

They say it is rare... but I have TWO, and my life is nice. Remember that stars cannot force your life to be difficult.

Yod, focal planet Saturn

You have a Yod planetary aspect pattern in your chart, also known as the 'finger of God'. This pattern consists of two different planets forming inconjunct aspects of 150` to a third, or focal, point. Usually there will be a marked emphasis on the area of life represented by this focal point, which may be one planet, or two or more in conjunction. You may have physical or psychological problems associated with the expression of the energies of the focal planet or planets, creating a subtle form of tension in your life. The key is adjustment. Your lesson is to transform the expression of these energies along more positive lines.

A mixed blessing, this can become a grounding reference point around which the necessary adjustments can be made.

Deadworld  Debbie Cassidy  (Chronicles of Deadworld, #1)

Goodreads Amazon
Humans weren’t meant to live underground, but then artificial intelligences weren’t meant to feed off souls. Shit happens. Being a Potential is an honor. It qualifies me for the mandatory Run, the chance to become a Guardian and wield one of the only weapons that can disable a Genesis scout. It also means I’ll have to leave the safety of my underground home and go topside, where the possibility of death goes up by eighty percent. Badges of honor mean nothing if you’re dead. I’d rather steer clear of any place where soul sucking AI roam. I’d rather stay safe in the Hive and hangout with my wolf-shifter co-worker. I’d rather work on the mechanical heart that keeps the Hive running and spend time with my enigmatic nephilim mentor. Heck, I’d rather be doing anything else. But I’ve made a promise to my best friend, a promise to get her to the finish line in time to win a spot as Guardian. How hard can it be, right? We have a plan. So why do I feel as if something is about to go seriously wrong? It’s a game. Just a game. Or is it? First came Chronicles of Midnight, then came Chronicles of Arcana, and now we have Chronicles of Deadworld. Set a hundred years after the events of its predecessors Deadworld takes you into a Post-Apocalyptic Urban fantasy world with a slow burn Whychoose Romance. You don’t have to read the previous series, but man, if you do the thrill ride will be unlike any other.

Uranus Symbol Glyph Uranus governs the zodiac sign Aquarius, under which Thomas Edison, inventor of the light bulb, was born.
God of the sky and the heavens, is the ruler of Aquarius. In Astrology, the energies of Uranus are electric and crammed with change.
According to astrology, radical and metaphysical Uranus is the planet that rules our higher minds.

Under the Beams a planet is said to be under the beams when it comes within a certain range of a conjunction with the Sun.
When a planet is under the beams its light is completely overwhelmed and obscured as a result of its close proximity to the Sun.
The exact range in which a planet becomes visible or invisible based on its proximity to the Sun varies based on the planet involved.
I have to admit, this one was new to me I found it in this fabulous resource, theastrologydictionary.com

CHARACTER INTERVIEW with PRU from
HIDE NOT SEEK
by D.E. Haggerty

1.       Pru what is your favorite food?
Is coffee food? No? I’m a bit of a junk food addict. Blueberry muffins, Twizzlers, Milk Duds, popcorn… the list goes on and on. Blueberry muffins are healthy, aren’t they?

2.       When you are not hiding what is your favorite vacation spot?
I love the beach! I used to go there all the time. Wait! Me and my big mouth. Forget I said that. I do love the beach, though. What better way is there to spend the day than listening to the sound of waves while reading a book?

3.       Cats or Dogs?
Dogs. Definitely dogs. I don’t have one now, but I’d sure like one to cuddle up with while I read. As I don’t know how long I can stay in Milwaukee, a dog’s out of the question right now.

4.       Chocolate or Vanilla?
Chocolate. Totally. Chocolate. I’m not sure you can trust someone who doesn’t eat chocolate, which puts me in a quandary as Ajax doesn’t eat chocolate. Oh wait! I can’t date Ajax anyway. Nope, I’m most definitely not going to date Ajax.

5.       Have you encountered more than one murder?
Ummm, no? There. That sounded convincing, didn’t it?

6.       Are you naturally brave or brave by force of circumstance?
I’m not brave at all. Even now, I’m totally scared out of my mind. My friend Melanie, on the other hand, is brave enough for the two of us. Of course, her bravery resembles recklessness more than bravery. She’s a bit crazy.

7.       Anything else we should know?
Hmmm… no? It’s safer if you don’t know too much. I don’t want… Scratch that. I really need to learn to keep my mouth shut.

About the Book

I know who you really are.
Pru has a secret, which she has no plans to reveal - ever. But after a woman is murdered and all clues point to her, she has no choice but to disclose her true identity. When her revelations help thwart the killer's plan to frame Pru for the murder, the killer begins stalking her. With each note he sends, he gets closer. The police are stumped. Pru wants to run away. She really, really wants to run, but Ajax has found the woman of his dreams and he's not letting her go anywhere. He can be patient. In the meantime, he'll protect her with his life. Pru isn't feeling very patient, and her friends, Mel and Terri, are definitely not willing to wait until the police uncover who the stalker is. The three friends take matters into their own hands and jump headfirst into the investigation.
Will Pru and her friends uncover her stalker before he turns his violence on Pru?

About the Author

I grew up reading everything I could get my grubby hands on, from my mom's Harlequin romances to Nancy Drew, to Little Women. When I wasn't flipping pages in a library book, I was penning horrendous poems, writing songs no one should ever sing, or drafting stories which have thankfully been destroyed. College and a stint in the U.S. Army came along, robbing me of free time to write and read, although on the odd occasion I did manage to sneak a book into my rucksack between rolled up socks, MRIs, t-shirts, and cold weather gear. After surviving the army experience, I went back to school and got my law degree. I jumped ship and joined the hubby in the Netherlands before the graduation ceremony could even begin. A few years into my legal career, I was exhausted, fed up, and just plain done. I quit my job and sat down to write a manuscript, which I promptly hid in the attic before returning to the law. But practicing law really wasn’t my thing, so I quit (again!) and went off to Germany to start a B&B. Turns out running a B&B wasn’t my thing either. I polished off that manuscript languishing in the attic before following the husband to Istanbul where I decided to give the whole writer-thing a go. But ten years was too many to stay away from my adopted home. I packed up again and moved to The Hague where, in between tennis matches and failing to save the world, I’m currently working on my next book. I hope I’ll always be working on my next book.
Hide Not Seek is my fifteenth novel.

Void-of-course a term describing a planet that does not apply to a major aspect until it changes sign.
Usually referring to the Moon (I thought always, but #atozchallenge has helped me learn).
A void-of-course Moon time period is often considered to be a less than favorable time to start a new project.
This period is best used to reflect, review, and re-organize.

Time and T-square

TIME exact time of birth is key to an accurate birth chart. To date the ONLY time I am certain of is my son's I focused on it as I gave birth, THAT chart was going to be flawlessly exact!
My birth certificate says 1:30 p.m. but as soon as I got into Astrology my mom found a beautiful handwritten form by a nun in the hospital I was born, stating that the time of birth was 1:45 p.m. The 15 minutes made important changes in my chart and I feel is a much better fit.

The T-square aspect pattern is formed when points in opposition also form a square with another point (or points). The pattern resembles the letter T when viewed in the chart.  The squared planet/point is referred to as the focal planet. The point opposite the focal planet, which is unoccupied, is nevertheless a sensitive point in the chart , it is like an invisible feature.

A stellium is a group of several planets in a single sign of the zodiac or a single house.

Example of a stellium in Leo can be seen in my birth chart:
In the 10th and 11th House I have Planets and asteroids in the sign of LEO.
  • Planets Mercury, Uranus, Mars and Venus.
  • Asteroids MakeMake, Vesta, and Haumea

This cluster of planets leads to an emphasis on that particular sign in the chart. It is possible for there to be more than one stellium in a chart.
Technically the plural of stellium is “stellia”.

SOFT ASPECTS are generally considered the sextile and trine aspects, and are also referred to as “easy” and “flowing” aspects.

The soft aspects bring ease, clarity, and vision to our lives. We can see, grasp, and understand what is happening.

Saturn Symbol Glyph SATURN
Stoic Saturn is the taskmaster of the skies. My Saturn is in my 3rd house. I am on my second SATURN RETURN!
In astrology, Saturn governs time and the expertise that comes from slow, steady and structured growth.

RETROGRADE

A planet is considered “retrograde” when it appears to be moving backwards.
Both “retrograde” and “direct” are terms used in astrology to describe the direction of planetary movement with relation to the Earth.

☞ Note that the planets do not actually move
backwards.

However, they appear (from our perspective on Earth) to back up for periods of time.
The Sun and the Moon never retrograde.

Some Kind of Tomorrow
by Kay Blake
Genre: YA Contemporary
Release Date: April 19th 2019

Summary:

17-year-old Libby Reid has always been told life can only be lived forward not backward. Libby's chronically ill and she spends her time counting down the days until she has another flare. But that all changes when she meets Matt.

Matt Ramírez is an 18-year-old boy who loves music, games and having a good time. But underneath he wants the world to see him. Really see him. And Libby sees him in ways no one has ever seen him before.

Deciding to make their last summer as teens memorable, they make a bucket list of things to do. Together they find adventure, friendship, love and most of all understanding.

Excerpt:
“What are you doing?”
I raised an eyebrow, holding up my book. “Reading.”
“What book?”
I turned it to show him the cover.
“Ah! A classic. Though I think I’ve outgrown Harry Potter.”
My eyes narrowed. “What do you mean?”
“I just feel that I’m too old for those books. It was fun when I was eleven,” he said with a shrug.
That did it. He spouted ridiculous things, and I didn’t plan on spending my summer listening to them.
“Well, Matthew, I’m sure the millions of other people who love Harry as much as I do would disagree. There is no age limit on the story or the friendship. You’re just saying absurd things. There is no age limit to enjoy what Harry Potter gave the world. So even if I’m seventy and want to read this book, I will do so proudly!” I said, my tone indignant.
He studied me in a way that made me falter a bit under his stare. “You seem to take your Harry Potter very seriously.”
“Yes, I do.”
He nodded. “Okay. I get that, I guess. But I do think you need to loosen up a bit. You seem on edge.”
“How do you know I’m on edge? I don’t even know you,” I said, my brow raised and disdain evident.
A wide grin spread across his face. “No, but you will.”
“What if I don’t want to get to know you?”
His smile faltered a bit, then he straightened his shoulders. “Well, I would say that is pretty mean, but we will be friends. Count on it.”
A part of me wanted to slap the confident look right off his face. He annoyed me something fierce. He was like a bug that kept flying around your face. No matter how many times you swiped at it, it kept coming back.
“Do you read Harry all the time?” he asked, swiftly changing the subject.
“Yes. It is one of my go-to books. I love the series. One of my favorite things is the superb world building. If I were a writer, I would love to dabble in that world.” I said it with so much conviction, I found myself smiling at his amused expression.
“Well, with an argument like that, maybe I’m wrong. Maybe you can convince me otherwise.”
I huffed. “Maybe I don’t want to.”
“Are you always this mean?”
“Are you always this irritating?” I retorted, one eyebrow raised.
“I’m whatever a person needs me to be. Maybe I’m funny and you’re just too mean to admit it.”
That made me chuckle. “You think really highly of yourself, don’t you? I can tell you right now that you are not funny. You’re a big pain in my ass. And I don’t know why you’re so focused on making me talk to you when I’m reading. Don’t you have something to do? It’s summer. I’m sure you have tons of friends and things to do in this nice weather.”
“In the grand scheme of things, we all have something to do, don’t we? People to see. New things to try. We all want to be doing things, but do we ever stop and just take a minute to smell the roses? Enjoy the sunset? I can bet you most people don’t.”
“And how can you say that when you don’t know most people?”
“I know how people are. I know they tend to do a lot more worrying about life than actually living it.”
I said nothing. In a strange way, he was right. We were all so worried about our problems. That was me almost every single day.
